Deputy-FM: human disaster taking place in Yemen

TEHRAN, Apr. 06 (MNA) – Deputy-FM for Arab and African Affairs has warned that a human disaster is taking place in Yemen.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told reporters on Sunday that Tehran would actively engage in Yemen to address this disaster through its humanitarian aid and political solutions for country’s deadlock.

He severely denounced Saudi Arabian air strikes against Yemen; “we recommend Saudi Arabia to wisely stop launching air strikes in Yemen and take the lessons of the fate of the US military intervention in the region; the enemies of the Islamic world seek to engage Saudi Arabia in Yemen, and turn the country into a second Libya, thus effectively weakening the world of Islam,” he emphasized.

Amir-Abdollahian describe the recent Yemeni development as a human disaster taking place in a country hit by internecine strife; “the siege of Yemen and preventing of humanitarian help by international organizations from reaching to the affected citizens are not acceptable; raise of terrorism and discounted power of Islamic world are the only Saudi achievement in military intervention in Yemen, which would only improve the Zionist regime position in the region,” he asserted.

“Tehran will actively engage in Yemeni crisis through sending humanitarian aid and political solutions to the political deadlock; all countries participating in invading Yemen would be held responsible for the deteriorated security conditions in the region,” warned the deputy-FM.
